Kingfisher Airlines to provide unique fan packages for travel to the Rainbow Nation

Monday, Mumbai 30th March 2009: The DLF Indian Premier League today announced that Kingfisher Airlines, the country’s only 5 Star Airline, rated by Skytrax, would be the Official Airline and Travel Partner for the league in Season 2009. As the official airline and travel partner to the DLF Indian Premier League, Kingfisher Airlines will extend its world-class, award-winning hospitality to not only all the teams and players of the DLF Indian Premier League but will also offer IPL fans in India the unique opportunity to travel to South Africa to root for their favourite teams participating in Season 2009 in South Africa. The DLF Indian Premier League is set to kick-off in Cape Town with an exciting double-header weekend, which will see all eight teams pitted against each other. The double header on April 18th will see the winner of the inaugural season the Rajasthan Royals face-off against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, while the Mumbai Indians will do battle against the Chennai Super Kings. On Sunday – April 19th the Deccan Chargers will face the Kolkata Knight Riders and the second game will see the Delhi Dare Devils take on the Kings XI Punjab.

DLF Indian Premier League’s Season 2009 in South African Season will see the eight franchises play a league phase comprising a total of 56 matches to be played on 34 days at eight venues. The eight venues finalized for Season 2009 are Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, East London, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein and Kimberley. The league will also feature 22 days of action packed double-headers. The two semi-finals have been scheduled for May 22nd and 23rd at Pretoria and Johannesburg respectively, with the Grand Final schedule for May 24th at Johannesburg.
