If you might not know, Kingfisher Airlines was a very popular airline in India for nearly 10 years before it ceased operations unlike W88 in Thailand which is leading the market. In this article, let’s learn about the highlights of this airline and why it was one of India’s pride in the past.

What is Kingfisher Airlines?

Kingfisher Airlines Limited is an Indian airline established in 2003 and owned by United Breweries Group. Until it ceased operations in 2012, it was the second-largest domestic airline in the country.  On its website sitemap mentioned that Kingfisher Airlines received a lot of big awards. It was one of only seven airlines rated 5 stars by Skytrax.  It served more than 1 million passengers and had 71 regional and international destinations. Bit less than Fun88 but they tried. Kingfisher Airlines was once an icon of Indian aviation. In 2005, Vijay Mallya, a well-known Indian billionaire, launched Kingfisher Airlines. He ordered a total of 12 A320 aircraft from Airbus. He had the ambition to bring a new breeze to Indian aviation with the slogan: “Fly the Good Times”. At that time, the Kingfisher Airlines launch was considered promising and presented the perfect opportunity.
