Launches Daily Services From Chennai to Port Blair; Kolkata to Port Blair and Chennai to Kolkata
Port Blair, November 2, 2007 — Kingfisher Airlines, India `s favourite airline today announced that it has further expanded its route network with the introduction of three new services. The newly introduced services connect Port Blair, the picturesque capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to two key cities, Chennai and Kolkatta. Kingfisher Airlines will operate a daily service on both these routes.
Kingfisher Airlines also announced the introduction of a new service from Kolkata to Chennai. With the addition of these new services, Kingfisher Airlines now connects 34 cities with over 208 f lights a day on the wings of a fleet of 34 brand new aircraft.
Commenting on the launch of these new routes, Dr. Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO, Kingfisher Airlines Limited said, “I am delighted that Kingfisher Airlines has introduced two new flights to the pristine tropical paradise that has earned the distinction of being regarded as a naturalist`s haven. In the short period of 29 months since its launch, Kingfisher Airlines has won 27 international and national awards and accolades and is today a clear market leader. It is only fitting that travellers from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and inbound visitors now have the option to fly to Port Blair on their favourite airline which has redefined the whole experience of flying”.
Mr. V. Raja, Global Sales Head-Kingfisher Airlines Limited, added, “The launch of these three new services is consistent with our goal of tapping emerging routes and offering convenient and frequent services that cater to the unmet needs of air travellers in India. Given the tourism potential of the Andaman and Nicobar islands and the strategic and historic importance of these islands, we see potential to develop and grow a market for these routes while simultaneously exploring virgin market segments that would typically fly to the islands. We look forward to growing this market”.
Ever since its launch in May 2005, Kingfisher Airlines has blazed a trail of innovations and introduced a range of market-firsts that have completely redefined the whole experience of flying. By elevating its customers to a level of being ‘guests` and not just passengers, Kingfisher Airlines has endeared itself to consumers.
