New Delhi, March 28, 2010 – Kingfisher Airlines, India’s only Five Star airline rated by Skytrax, today flagged-off its first flight on the New Delhi London route. The launch of this new route marks the first time that Kingfisher Airlines is commencing international flights out of New Delhi. These flights will be daily non-stop flights from New Delhi to London Heathrow.
Kingfisher Airlines’ flight IT 001 will take off from New Delhi at 1.20 pm and arrive at London Heathrow’s Terminal 4 at 6.10 pm, local time. From London, flight IT 002 will leave at 9.05 pm and arrive the next day at 10.20 am in New Delhi, local time.
Commenting on the launch of this new international route, Dr. Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO, Kingfisher Airlines Limited said, “I am delighted to announce the launch of Kingfisher' Airlines’ maiden international service out of New Delhi. The flights on the New Delhi-London sector will be operated using a brand new Airbus A330-200, widely billed as the best A330 ever built for any airline. Configured in two classes, Kingfisher First and Kingfisher Class, the spacious full-length wide-bodied twin aisle cabin of the A330-200 has gone to great lengths to make flying feel a more natural and pleasurable experience.
Sharing details about the connectivity with the vast domestic route network of Kingfisher Airlines, Mr. Manoj Chacko, Executive Vice President-Commercial, Kingfisher Airlines Limited said, “The New Delhi – London flight offers excellent connectivity with Jaipur, Leh, Amritsar, Kullu, Lucknow, Shimla, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad amongst other cities. Guests will now be able to fly in on Kingfisher Airlines from these cities and easily connect with the flight from New Delhi to London. The London – New Delhi flight offers easy and convenient connections to Srinagar, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Kathmandu, Udaipur, Dehradhun, Ranchi. Amritsar, Bangalore, Indore, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Jaipur, & Kolkata. Besides when we start fights to Kathmandu, guests coming from Kathmandu and going to Kathmandu will be able to connect very conveniently with the flights on the New Delhi – London – New Delhi route. We also offer easy and convenient onward connections to multiple destinations throughout Europe”.
